2015 Jaguar XF AC compressor clicking on and off rapidly – any ideas?

I've got a 2015 XF with about 90,000 kilometers on it. The AC has started acting strange. The compressor clutch clicks on and off rapidly, maybe every 5 to 10 seconds, even when the AC is set to max cool. The air coming out is cool but not cold, and I can hear the compressor cycling constantly. I checked the refrigerant pressure with one of those DIY cans and it showed in the normal range, but I'm not sure how accurate those gauges are. I took it to a local garage and they said it might be low on refrigerant or a faulty pressure switch, but they don't really work on Jags. I'm looking for a sharjah jaguar air conditioning repair shop that has experience with these British cars. Has anyone here had a similar issue with a Jaguar or Land Rover where the compressor cycles too frequently? What ended up being the problem? I'm worried it could be a failing compressor or a clogged expansion valve. The car is otherwise in great shape and I'd like to keep it, but this AC issue is driving me nuts in the heat. If you know a good AC specialist in Sharjah for Jaguars, please share. I'd rather not take it to the dealer because I know they'll overcharge me. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Rapid compressor cycling every 5 to 10 seconds on an XF is almost always a refrigerant charge issue even if the DIY gauge shows normal. Those cheap gauges are notoriously inaccurate compared to proper manifold gauge readings.

Pressure switch cutting the compressor out repeatedly to protect the system is exactly what that cycling pattern describes. A clogged expansion valve causing abnormal high side pressure triggers the same behavior on these Jaguar climate systems.

Cool but not cold air combined with constant cycling confirms the compressor is working but the system is not holding proper operating pressure. A specialist with accurate gauges will identify whether it is a charge issue or a failing expansion valve in one proper diagnostic session.

DIY refrigerant cans and their gauges giving a false normal reading on a system that is actually low is extremely common. The low side pressure can look fine while the overall charge is still insufficient for proper cooling on these British cars.

90,000 kilometers on an XF with a compressor that is still engaging and cycling is actually a good sign. This is most likely a refrigerant or expansion valve issue rather than compressor failure, and a Sharjah Jaguar specialist will confirm that quickly with proper equipment.
