This has meant exporters must improve cold chain standards, adhere strictly to packing, vacuum‑packing, quality control and ensure that reefer containers meet required specifications. The ban has had cost implications: air freight for meat has jumped significantly, with some exporters reporting losses (or added costs) due to higher freight costs.  There have been surcharge pressures too: foreign shipping lines have started imposing emergency surcharges on shipments to/from Pakistan because of geopolitical/tactical disruptions, cost escalations in operations, fuel, etc.
